Success Stories

Hi DNetwork friends 😊

This #WorkStory comes from Gek Ayu, a Pastry Staff at Peppers Hotel Seminyak.

As one of the DNetwork users, I Gusti Ayu Ariyanthi Pratiwi, who is familiarly called Gek Ayu, a deaf person who is quite active in communicating with DNetwork regarding job vacancy information.

Periodically, Gek Ayu consults with DNetwork online or directly to the office to get information on job vacancies. Having skills in the Food and Beverages section with Pastry specifications makes Gek Ayu very interested in the Culinary and Hospitality sector.

In collaboration with Peppers Hotel Seminyak, which is currently opening up job opportunities for people with disabilities in the pastry department, DNetwork provides recommendations to Peppers Hotel regarding potential candidates for these vacancies. Next, DNetwok contacted Gek Ayu to participate in the recruitment stages until finally being accepted to work at Peppers Hotel as a Pastry Staff member in December 2023.

Thanks to her cooperation and persistence, Gek Ayu is now working and able to be independent and able to support her family as a mother with a disability.

As a person with multiple disabilities, namely sensory impairment and deafness, Wiguna, has participated in the Aku Mampu Berbisnis entrepreneurship program held by DNetwork in 2020 and 2023. Through an idea of a digital product payment agent, in 2020 Wiguna has succeeded in developing his business until today to become PT Mahayasa Teknologi Nusantara which employs other people with disabilities as agents and customer service. Thanks to his persistence in trying, Wiguna managed to get capital assistance from DNetwork in developing his business.

Three years later, Wiguna came back with a fresh and innovative business idea that offers music course services that also empowers other friends with disabilities through Sunar Sanggita Private, which again received capital assistance from DNetwork's Aku Mampu Berbisnis program in 2023. This fact is very eye-opening if Wiguna has succeeded in developing a business idea and making it useful for the people around him. Through his business, Wiguna proves that he can be a promising business innovator in the future, which is only possible if we, his surrounding environment, fully support his business growth.

DNetwork is committed to always be a safe and comfortable place for people with disabilities to maximize their potential to fully participate, function, and become an important part of society. We hope that this commitment does not stop with us, but able to become a public concern and awareness that achieving a civil society taht requires inclusion on every side, as simple as dismissing the stigma of people with disabilities.
